Meghan Markle Has No Black Friends (and Serena Doesn’t Count)
Because Black people are simply beneath her.
[Edit: I’m not speaking on this topic in general terms. I acknowledge that this is something that happens in the lives of everyday people and that’s ok. I’m talking specifically about Meghan Markle- international activist and feminist, who positions herself as a post-racial humanitarian woman of the world. Please read this with THAT lens- that this is about nobody else but Meghan and based on the information she has shared with us about her self-perception. It’s also not about me, who has a whole white husband. Lol Furthermore she doesn’t seem to have any non-white friends either.]
After wrapping up the “Harry and Meghan documentary, all of my suspicions about Meghan are completely validated. And while I have compassion for her as a woman of color, I am deeply disappointed at the passing nod she gave to the discussion about her biracial identity, writing it off as a topic that “no one talks about” or that is unique to her situation. There are many compelling aspects about their story- but for many of us, unpacking the undercurrent of race in the story is the top priority.
And I am done fighting with Black women who choose to identify with her when she clearly does not see us as equals. The only time you ever see her photographed with Black women…
